You’re not alone. Hear real stories from real people.

Sometimes hearing from someone who’s been through something similar helps more than anything else. Here you’ll find real stories from young people who’ve faced difficult situations and found ways to move forwards.

These stories aren’t here to tell you what to do. They’re here to remind you that you’re not alone and there’s always someone who will listen.

I left home at 12 years old
I wasn’t sure about speaking to the police
I felt alone and scared
I had an argument at home
I got involved with some people and owed them money
I had no home, no safety, and no control
I had a history of leaving my place of care
I was moved because of worries about my safety
I was asked to hold something for an older boy
I was £4,000 in debt and I wanted to disappear forever
I felt targeted after coming out
I felt like leaving a toxic environment
I was about to leave home for good

Nicole’s story: Finding safety through music

“It started when me and my Grandma were having an argument. It then turned into a fight when she hit me.”

Nicole ran away after an argument with her Grandma. She spent a night sleeping on the streets. After being found by police, she was able to start a new life in foster care. Today, she’s much happier.
